Honestly, I love learning about animals that live in the ocean. It is so crazy to me that we know NOTHING about the ocean and the animals that live in it. Ok. Well not nothing, but we still don’t know all of the information there is to know. Earth is covered in water and there are still amazing secrets out there left to be discovered.
National Geographic has done a four episode docuseries that is all about whales. They caught some wonderful never before seen footage. This footage was amazing to watch. Whales are magnificent creatures and this series shines a beautiful bright light on them. The footage shows us how much alike whales and humans are. Whales love to bond, communicate, and teach traditions to their babies, families, and friends. We also learn that whale families are very smart creatures with deep family bonds. They also form their own language, feeding patterns, they have emotions, and they share their secrets with each other. Whales pass on all of these traditions and information to their offspring so they can continue on their traditions to their offspring.
I legit could not keep my eyes off the screen. I watched all four episodes in one sitting because I was so mesmerized by everything. The footage and photos they were able to get were simply stunning. It felt like I was right next to them seeing these beautiful animals first hand.
Anyone who appreciates these types of films is going to love Secrets of the Whales. NatGeo does a fantastic job at showing us these magnificent creatures and teaching us about them at the same time so we can try to do our part to save them.
