Ok ok, I know I am going out of order with these issues, but who can blame me? It’s Terry McGinnis!

I strongly liked this issue. I wish I could say I loved it because Terry McGinnis/Batman Beyond was one of my all time favorite shows growing up. I am bummed that it wasn’t more entertaining. It was a bit lack luster of a comic. I think the storyline could have been better, but hey. It’s Scooby Doo and Batman. I will always enjoy it at the end of the day. One thing that I was really stoked about was reading Terry say “Schway”. To be honest, I still say that from time to time.

The colors that were used in this issue were a bit underwhelming. With it being Scooby Doo I expected it to have a little more color. But when I think back on the Batman Beyond TV series there was not a lot of diverse colors. It was more on the darker side. Since they were going more that route, I wish the TV series style was a little more embraced. But overall, the artwork is brilliant and fun as always.

Overall, it is still a fun issue to read. It’s light hearted comic with a mystery to solve. I am sad this is the last issue though. But I am happy I went out of order because this means I still have more Batman and Scooby Doo to read. It is a nice break from the other comics.

🔴 Spoiler Summary Spew 🔴

The Gang are driving trying to get rid of a Monster Man. They stop and get out of the car. They become surrounded by more Monster Man. They run into a store to hid out, but then gas starts to enter the room. The Gang falls asleep and they wake up in a Batman museum.

They Royal Flush Gang was there to steal old man Batman’s utility belt. Batman comes crashing in. He fights off the Royal Flush Gang but handcuffs the Scooby Gang. Velma tells Batman the commissioner, he will vouch for them. Batman is taken back because Barbara Gordon is the commissioner. He then realizes they are the Mystery Inc. He frees them so they can figure out how they got there. They go outside and see the Mystery Van is still there. The Gang has time traveled before, but never against their will. Batman upgrades the Mystery Van to fly.

Batman tells the Gang majority people fly, the ones who drive are gearheads and criminals and people who don’t want to fly. They head to the Pier to search for the Royal Flush Gang. They find the Royal Flush Gang and start a fight. Daphne is able to take back old Batman’s utility belt. Velma, Daphne, and Fred head into a Fire Station to come up with a plan. Meanwhile, Shaggy and Scooby accidentally got on two of the Royal Flush Gang’s flying cards.

They are able to best the Royal Flush Gang just in time for the police and Commissioner Barbara Gordon arrive. The Scooby Gang are confused that Barbara did not know who they were because since this is the future, they worked with her. When Batman takes them back to the museum they see original Batman come in. All of a sudden the Scooby Gang and original Batman figure this was all because of Hugo Strange. Strange had the Scooby Gang in isolated containers.

They were able to get free and they were still in their own timeline. Strange did all this just to try to find out the identity of Batman.

I do give kudos to Huge Strange for using the Scooby gang to try and figure out Batman’s true identity. But I am hugely bummed that the time traveling aspect of this story was fake. I feel like a different route should have been taken.
