Cruella is honestly a wonderful movie! So brilliantly done. I cannot believe I am saying this, but I really did like this better than Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. Now don’t get me wrong. I enjoyed Maleficent A LOT, but Cruella just hit differently. Even though this one does not tie in perfectly with 101 Dalmatians, I still loved it. I will say this though, I did feel this one was darker than Maleficent. I did not know I needed a back story on Cruella until I saw this movie.

Like I said earlier, even though the story does not go quite hand in hand as I would have hoped, I still enjoyed every minute of it. The story telling was brilliant. Even the way they shot this dark film was fantastic. At times the filming can feel a bit chaotic, but I felt this was intentional because it shows what Cruella is going through. To me at times it felt like they were channeling Bates Motel πŸ˜… You can tell that every one really put their heads together and agreed every step of the way. They all really put their heart and soul into making this movie.

The costumes in this movie are off the charts amazing. Normally I am not one for fashion, well, what I mean is that I do not have an eye for that sort of thing, but in this movie I noticed. It is kind of hard not to πŸ˜‚ Either way, I fell in love with everything the costume designers put out on screen. I hope they get nominated for something because they did a stellar job.

Emma Stone was brilliant in this movie! This is by far my favorite movie of hers. Now. I am a little biased because I do love Disney so much, but I really did think Emma did a bang up job. She was fantastic at bringing her own flair to the role, but also channeling her inner Glenn Close. I have heard actors say that they love playing a villain because they get to have more fun. I have always believed that, but I believe it much more after watching Emma. She really just threw herself into this role. She reminded me of when Heath Ledger threw himself into the role as The Joker.

Not only was Emma Stone brilliant, but every one else was right up there with their acting. Emma Thompson was great. Joel Fry was great. Paul Hauser was great. John McCrea was great. They were all beyond amazing. Everyone was so brilliant that I got lost in the movie. It was like they hypnotized me. That usually only happens with Marvel and Star Wars movies πŸ˜‚

Overall, this was such a fantastic movie. It was such a joy to watch. This is definitely one that I will be watching over and over again. The soundtrack on this movie is thumbs up worthy as well. This whole movie was a phenomenally well made and such an artistic movie. I really do hope this movie gets nominated for awards, it deserves it.

Oh! I was also a HUGE fan of the end credit scene. You’ll see what I mean when you watch it 🀭

🟒 Watch or Don’t Watch 🟒
