📸: Hallmark Gold Crown
I give this movie 4 out of 10 vomits
🤮🤮🤮🤮
🟢 Plot 🟢
Workaholic lawyer Maggie is having marriage issues. She wishes for a do-over and awakens 15 years in the past. Will Maggie choose college boyfriend Rick or will she stay with husband Josh?
🟢 The Stars 🟢
Katie Findlay – Maggie
Wyatt Nash – Josh
Marshall Williams – Rick
🟢 Non Spoiler Spew 🟢
I am a fan of when Hallmark makes movies where the lead character goes back in time for a redo in life.
Writing
It truly felt there was something missing in the story. I could see where they were trying to go, but the theme of the movie seemed to go in the opposite direction Hallmark normally goes in. Don’t get me wrong. I am all for change, but this one not too much. So, I will give a small spoiler. The theme of the movie seemed to go with that the person you marry will not be THE ONE. Marriage is something you just work through with someone you do love and care deeply for, but they are not THE ONE. I can see where the writers are coming from, that not everyone believes there is THE ONE out there, but man was this a hard change. So, it just made my face cringe a little.
Chemistry
I am sad to say that I was not a fan of this cast. I’m sure they are all lovely people, but there was ZERO chemistry. Like, ZERO! It was a huge bummer.
Likes and Dislikes
Like I said earlier, I am a HUGE fan of go back in time story lines. I guess my love of these stories stem from “Back to the Future”. I love seeing how things you change in the past will change in the future for the better. Also, these actors did not look like they could pass for 37. It could just be because they have baby faces, but I just did not buy it that they were 37/40.
Overall
Love Strikes Twice isn’t such a TERRIBLE movie, it just is not one of my top favorites. I think the script was thought out, but there was still some flushing out that needed to happen. Also, they could have made the actors look older.
🟢 Watch or Don’t Watch? 🟢
Uh, you can skip this one. Watch it just to say you have seen all Hallmark movies, but it was not a favorite of mine.
🔴 Spoilers 🔴
Ohhhhh heck no! Maggie is married! She should NOT be trying to set up a lunch date with her college boyfriend.
Wooooooow! Josh is such a cry baby! Why would he tell his wife “pity is not a great foundation for a relationship”? Like, really?! Now I kind of don’t mind Maggie setting up a lunch date.
Ewwww! Josh really said they should not have gotten married and then tells her they should talk about it later because they are visiting her family? Wow dude. What an awful time to say that to her.
