Like all their movies, this is another family friendly Disney musical. This musical is very entertaining. It is a great blend of comedy, romance, and dancing. I was constantly smiling and enjoying myself throughout the whole movie. It has been a while since I have seen this movie. I forgot how much fun it was to watch. I am glad Disney put it on their streaming service.
Teen Beach Movie is honestly exactly what you think a Disney musical would be like. It is cheesy, cute, and goofy, but in the most wonderful way possible. The accents the kids have to do made me laugh throughout the movie and the costumes were on point. This movie was pretty much based off of West Side Story. In this case, it was a surf and turf war between surfers and bikers.
What’s great about Teen Beach is that it teaches teens about individuality, relationships, and self awareness. Disney also does a great job at putting an emphasis on the challenges women faced in the 60s. That women could not do everything that boys did and women had to act and dress a certain way. Teen Beach Movie relays a message that you can find true happiness as long as you follow your dreams and not someone else’s.
Musical numbers in this movie are so great and catchy! Makes me wish life were a musical. . . The music they have is truly enjoyable. My FAVORITE song is called “Cruisin’ for a Bruisin”. Choreography in Teen Beech Movie is also amazing! Very professionally done. They are all so well done it makes me want to learn the moves 😅 All these actors they picked are amazingly talented. I have said the before, but Disney really does only pick kids who are triple threats.
Overall, I truly enjoyed this movie. Probably a little more than I should have 🙃 I know it is crazy to say, but to me it was a lot better than High School Musical. If you want to see fun and upbeat musical this will for sure do the trick.
