This is LEGIT my most FAVORITE romantic comedy! It is so good. SO GOOD! Everything about this movie is perfect! I read the book after watching the movie to see the differences and man they stuck to the book pretty carefully. Yeah some stuff had to be changed, but it was nothing to make me mad. Gosh. I have NOTHING but love for this movie. Because of this movie I really want to go to Singapore. I think I will start a Singapore fund 🤣
If you haven’t read the book then you really should. It was such a great read. It was also great to see how the movie makers brought this movie to life. Especially the wedding scene. Oh. My. Goodness. The wedding scene! 😍 Honestly everything came together so well! Even the fashion was spectacular. Normally I don’t care for fashion, but these outfits had me 🧐 I know some people have their negatives of this movie, but when I have read them I say to myself, “If you only knew the book you would understand”. You don’t NEED to read the book to understand the movie, but it does help.
Everyone is this film was also amazing! Awkwafina in this movie is my spirit animal! She made me laugh so much! I was already in love with Constance Wu from Fresh Off the Boat, Ronny Chieng from The Daily Show, Ken Jeong, and Nico Santos from Cloud 9. This was honestly an all star freakin cast. Their acting was ON POINT. You could tell that everyone was having a good time and they all thoroughly enjoyed working together. And for this to be Henry Golding’s first movie blew my mind. What a great first movie to be a part of. Michelle Yeoh was a force to be reckoned with man. She was outstanding. But back to Constance and Henry, they were amazing together! I believed they could be a real couple. All the actors in this movie were phenomenal. You could see that they all have incredible personalities and awesome acting skills.
Also, after reading the book I appreciated the cast A WHOLE LOT more. They were all casted PERFECTLY!
I LOVED every minute of this movie and I CANNOT wait for the next two movies to come out! I already read the books, so now I am just waiting to see how it all plays out.
