A fitness expert must get a movie star into shape before shooting his next film.

I hate to say this, but I did not enjoy this movie. There was ZERO romance and it moved way too fast. Our couple meets, then it fast forwards through days, then BAM, they are in love. It truly does bum me out that I did not enjoy this movie because I LOVE watching Hallmark movies.

The plot of the movie I thought was great. So I am thinking this fell short due to editing. When the commercials played for this I was like “Yes. I am all in for this movie”. Then it came and I was hugely disappointed. The story to me was great because it had tons of potential for romance. People have many fantasies about falling for your personal trainer. Now, obviously this is Hallmark so we are going to keep this PG, but they could still bring some of that heat to the movie. I was hoping so bad that it would get better, but it did not. I honestly wonder what happened. Don’t get me wrong. I know writing a movie is difficult, but Hallmark has been doing this for a very long time. They know the people watching want the ROMANCE.

I also did not like how the second romance was just thrown into the mix and just left to be forgotten. We would catch a glimpse here and there. Even though that story was also underdeveloped I was honestly more interested in that couple than our main one. To me that’s sad. Hallmark has done the double coupling before and it has worked out great.

There was also a HUGE missed opportunity for an obstacle for our couple to overcome. We all know there is usually an ex involved somehow. They had that opportunity to play the ex against the couple BUT THEY DIDN’T. I was bummed about that. I was honestly thinking this is where it could get good, but that lasted like half a scene then it was done. Ugh! 😒

You know, even though the movie was blah to me, I did feel the two leads had wonderful chemistry. Only if they were allowed to just be free and let go, I think this could have been a wonderful movie. You could see that they were vibing each other and they totally could have gone to the next level. But sadly this movie did not want that.

Overall, it really did feel like this movie got left behind. Like they put it on the shelf to finish it later and then forgot about it. The story was there, but the romance did seem to missing in the script itself. It was way too heavily focused on the fitness part. Which is totally fine to focus on fitness, but don’t forget about why people love Hallmark movies so much. You can have a fun romantic movie with an emphasis on healthy habits.

The only thing I found funny was the fake belly the actor has to wear. It just looked awkward and unnatural.

You can TOTALLY skip this movie. If you are trying to check off this movie as ‘Seen’ in your app checklist then yes, watch this movie. Other than that, SKIP IT.
