🟢 Plot 🟢

A giant egg is unearthed at a construction site and soon opened, releasing the terrible Ivan Ooze, who wreaks vengeance on Zordon for imprisoning him millennia ago. With Zordon dying and their powers lost, the Rangers head to a distant planet to find the mystic warrior Dulcea.

I will never get tired of watching the original Power Rangers movie. I will be honest. The new Power Ranger movie made me sad. I had such high expectations and they were not met. I truly did want to like it. But knowing this movie exists and is amazing makes me able to sleep better at night. I know I love this movie because I grew up with Power Rangers, so, this movie holds a special spot in my heart.

This movie is EXACTLY what you would expect it to be. It does not try to take itself too seriously. Which is great because if you have seen the shows then you know what you are getting yourself in to. This was never to be an award winning, deep thinking, type of movie. It’s Power Rangers.

Yes, the graphics are not up to par, but this is an older movie, so the graphics will not hold up to today’s. But! That is part of the magic! For it to be super cheesy in some parts is what I love. This was made specifically for the fans and they delivered. It is full of action, comedy, unnecessary flips, noises while throwing punches, and Zords!

There are many people out there who will rate this movie poorly, but those people do not understand the magic of this movie. Just the whole opening sequence says it all. Well, maybe not the opening, but when our 6 stars are on a plane. Growing up with Power Rangers and the toys was such an awesome time. Just that spark I would feel when the show came on. When I saw they were making a movie I flipped out! SO much joy I felt when I saw it. Seeing that this is on HBO Max I flipped out again.

City of Angel Grove is threatened by Ivan Ooze. Ooze has been imprisoned inside an egg, buried in a construction site for about 6,000 years. Zordon, the Power Rangers mentor, is the one who put him there.

To take over the world, Ooze packages this purple goopy substance comes out of him. He packages it as slime and gives it the the kids of Angel Grove. This substance has magic powers and when parents come in contact with it they become zombie like and they go find Ooze. They get into a trans and become Ooze’s slave. He enslaves them so they can dig out his two robotic monsters that will help him take over the world.

Ooze is able to infiltrate the Power Ranger’s headquarters and destroys everything. When the Rangers return they see Zordon is on the verge of death. Since everything is destroyed they are not able to Morph anymore. Because they cannot Morph they have to travel to another land and find another source of energy that will give them powers.

In the other land, the Power Rangers are able to pass the tests and they get their new power, as well as new Zords. They head back to Angel Grove and they help defeat Ooze, his two robots, and his henchmen.
