Hey Loki fans!
What an interesting second season! I had no idea where this season was heading but I was definitely along for the ride.
The Loki hair flips are back! It cracks me up every time Tom does a hair flip. I feel it is now an icon move. It for sure has become a habit of his where I am sure he is not aware he is doing it (or does he know π§). Either way, I am here for it.
This season had me so engaged. With how much I liked the first season I went in to this season already hooked. The first one ended on such a crazy cliffhanger it left me wanting more. I am pleased to say that this new season still hits the same as the first one. The characters are still loveable as ever. What I most liked about the opening of the new season is that it takes place right where season 1 ended. With the addition of Ke Huy Quan is already making this season better than the last. Ke Huy is having a great career run and I am happy to see he has made his way to Marvel.
Ke Huy, Tom, and Owen are a fantastic trio. They play so well off of each other. You can tell they had a good time filming with each other. Every joke that was written really landed. I was laughing all the way through. The way Owen Wilson carries himself and the way he acts is fantastic. He is great at being a sarcastic funny person. It seems to fit him perfectly. Ke Huy Quan is funny too because he is more of a dry funny. Tom Hiddleston also can wonderfully go back and forth between being serious and light hearted. Bottom line, everyone is casted great and their chemistry on set is beautiful to see.
This season overall did such a great job at telling the audience what is going to happen, but still keep us on the edge of our seat. I appreciate this because too many shows now a days keep everything clouded in mystery. Giving the audience just a nugget of the big picture here and there. I am all for mystery, but sometimes it gets old to have to wait for the ending of the season to finally be revealed what is going on. So I appreciate this show being up front with the audience on what is happening.
Also, the colors they are using in this episode are really pleasing to the eye. It’s not too bright or too dark. They are right in that sweet spot and it does not take away from the show. It compliments it. Especially when we see the Temporal Time Loop contraption. The colors that are being used to show the different branches of the timeline are beautiful. I am happy they kept this tone throughout the season. ESPECIALLY at the very end.
This second season was so much fun! I loved that is was both fast and slow paced. The story just kept moving forward, but paused enough to where we could follow what was happening and allow the comedic bits to thrive.

The whole jumping back and forth almost gave me a headache. I was glad when all that ended. I do not know why I get like that when scenes move too fast π There is a movie 500 Days of Summer that gave me a MASSIVE headache because the scenes jumped way too much around. It seemed like a good movie too π Also! When Loki travels through different times it reminds me of when people teleport in Harry Potter.
It’s crazy to think everything we thought happened at the end of the first season was false. When He Who Remains died, we thought that threw the whole multiverse off, but it didn’t. But I love how they ended it. Even though I still do not fully understand why, but I still liked it. I see that Loki has given up everything he loves to protect all these timelines. Since I have to come to that conclusion on my own, I really wish they spelt it out for me a bit more. Like when he destroyed the loom and started walking up invisible stairs I had no idea what was going on. I didn’t know what it meant when Loki was touching all the strands. Once I saw the throne I then understood what was happening. I hope I am not the only one who took that long to get it π
The Tree of Life at the end was beautiful. At first I thought it was like the tree from Animal Kingdom and I was telling myself “Yup. There is a little Disney splash”. But then I realized oh wait, Loki is a God so this might be from Norse Mythology. I researched it and yup, the tree at the end, in my opinion would be the tree of life called Yggdrasil. In my research, Yggdrasil is a sacred/holy tree where everything exists.
I do love the arc Loki has had in the Marvel universe. He has become villain turned into a good person. Although I do love the small bits of evil we saw in some episodes. But at the end of the day Loki has grown so much as a character. They wrote him so well because I know many of us can relate to him. Can relate to his love of his friends and wanting to do anything he can to protect them.
One of the scenes that had me rolling was in the first episode when they are heading to the main office where the temporal loom is and the floor of the entrance said, “Temporal radiation levels escalate exponentially beyond threshold likelihood of spaghettification increases 7000%. Proceed with caution.” Another funny moment was during the last episode when Loki asked OB how long does he need to understand the loom and he said centuries. Then we get a blank scene that said centuries later. I laughed and read it as the voice that comes on Spongebob when they say, “Three Hours Later”.
Ok. So McDonalds showing up for an episode as an end credit scene was freaking great. I was LOVIN it for sure. I know this was spoiled by the media because this McDonalds announced that Loki filmed there and you could come visit the set before it changed back to modern times. Not gonna lie. I was really jealous that I could not go and visit.
