I thoroughly enjoyed that comic! My favorite super hero AND the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?! TOGETHER?! Man, that was honestly such a joy to read. Batman and TMNT have ALWAYS been a favorite of mine. With TMNT I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE watching the old movies and playing the arcade game. And Batman, well, he has always been my favorite. So when I heard they actually mushed the two together I was like, WHAT?! 🤯 I needed the comic the second I found out.
The story was done extremely well. It goes at a perfect pace. Nothing felt rushed and there wasn’t anything missing. Tynion took his time flushing out the story and it really does show. When I was done with the comics I felt good. I was not left with unanswered questions or asking why certain things was placed in the Comic.
What’s nice too is that he lets every character get their shining moment. No character is over shadowed. Some do get more screen time than others, but those characters don’t feel missed. I felt Tynion had a remarkable grasp on the turtles, splinter, the villains, and Batman. The turtles when they were fighting were cracking jokes. They still loved pizza and playing video games. So it was wonderful to see them thrive as the way I knew them growing up.
The art works is so freaking good! So much detail and the colors were perfect. Sometimes in art I feel there can be too much detail. Like sometimes a character when they show is buff that they can show them a little too buff. Does that make sense? I sure hope it does 😅 There was no detail over looked.
You know, the one thing I was not a fan of were the way the paneling was set up. Sometimes the panels would read normal where you read left page first then right. Well other times you would have to read from the left all the way to the right page then back again. They did this a lot in the book so I felt it broke up the flow a little of the comic. I found my self like, what the heck?? Oh. It’s a full two page read. It’s not a BIG deal, but I would have liked it more if they stuck to one way of reading it.
This is a must read if you love Batman and TMNT!

🔴 Spoiler Summary 🔴
The story opens up with a female scientist talking to Batman about what hapened in her laboratory. . . Ninjas pop out of no where and start to attack the scientist. They came to steal an experimental generator. The lights go out. In the darkness she sees 4 colors. Red, purple, orange, and blue. These creatures were angry and mad. Batman said he will find these turtles.
We see a guy walking down the street and see he is a pizza delivery guy. The pizza guy arrives at the location and finds a note on a lamppost that says “Leave the pizza here”. . . . We all know what this means. . . The turtles.
Back at the Bat cave, Alfred tells Bruce he is worried about him. He is worried because this is the week of the anniversary of his parents death. Alfred tells Bruce to call Damian back home so they can spend time together. He does not want Bruce throwing himself into work like he usually does. Bruce says no and continues to work on finding the missing generator. Batman gets a hit and while he is on his way to check things out we move to the turtles.
This huge ugly green monster and his henchmen are walking through the sewers to avoid Batman. The green monster has a Batman tracker too. So he knows where Batman will be. Ugly green guy and his goons run into the turtles hideout. Turtles come out of hiding and beat everyone up. Splinter appears and says they all need to get back to their home.
At the laboratory Batman was heading to, he runs into ninjas. Batman is beating them up while wanting answers. He finally gets one to open up and he says they are The Foot Clan and all they are trying to do is get back home. Before he can say anymore we see a ninja start being thrown and kills the Foot member. We see it is Shredder who threw the star.
Outside of the turtles sewer they come across the bat mobile. They all start to fight and the turtles pretty much lose. Splinter comes in to save them and to give them all time to escape. Which they all do.
Even though they all escaped, Batman somehow took Ralph’s Sai. Lucius tells Bruce that the metal from the Sai is from a different dimension. Lucius also realizes that the metal is also disappearing because it is not from this world. Dr. Khan, who was working on a dimensional portal went missing. Lucius and Bruce know that in order for the dimensional portal to work they will need a piece that only them two know where it is. After the leave the room Splinter shows up and looks at the computer everything they were talking about.
Shredder goes to where he is rebuilding a portal and he is there with Penguin. Penguin is helping with him with anything Shredder needs. Since Shredder does not need him anymore, Shredder’s people kill all of Penguins. But since Penguin is good, he is able to talk Shredder into keeping him alive.
The turtles and Splinter break into Batman’s cave and start to look around. And in good TMNT fashion, they start to get into EVERYTHING and make comments about their speculation of Batman and all the souvenir’s in his cave.
We see Shredder and Penguin go to where they are keeping Dr. Khan in a cage. Batman is able to break in without being detected and frees Dr. Khan. Shredder is caught off guard because Batman and the Turtles are working together. Shredder blows up the portal and in doing so it activated the bomb that was planted inside Dr. Khan.
It then jumps back to two hours earlier. Batman and Alfred are still looking for the turtles but have no luck. Then the turtles pop up in the bat cave. Turtles and Batman get into another fight, but again Splinter steps in and stops the fighting. They all then start to talk about what is happening. Splinter tells Batman that they were fighting the Foot Clan and a guy named Krang. Krang opened a dimensional hole and teleported everyone to a different Gotham. Splinter says they need to go back home because the mutagen that is in their system is starting to disappear. So they will go back into being turtles and a rat if they don’t get back home in time.
It jumps forward to present time. We see Shredder blow up the machine that is needed for them to return home. Batman tells everyone that is ok because since he freed Dr. Khan he can build a new one. Alfred then tells Batman that Khan’s head blew off. Shredder says that they put a detonator in his neck. So when he blew up the machine it blew up Khan. Shredder then flees on a helicopter and runs into Ra’s Al Ghul.
Everyone heads back to the bat cave. We see Alfred open the door and it is a pizza guy with tons of pizza boxes. Leonardo and Batman are practice fighting with tips from Splinter. Donatello is still researching for any good news. A great scene from all this is when they are eating pizza they get Batman to eat with them as well. Probably the first time that ever happened, Batman eating. The only one being a buzzkill is Ralph. He is mad that no one is doing anything and he is mad at Batman for pretty much being a nobody and doing this crime fighting for fun. So Ralph leaves the cave.
It goes to Shredder and Ra’s working together to create another portal. They succeed and open the portal and guess who walks in. . . Casey Jones! and he comes with lots of mutagen. At this time an alert is going on in the bat cave letting them know another portal has been opened. Batman does not see this because he went after Ralph. Batman finds Ralph and takes him to the spot his parents were murdered and tells him his story. Ralph and Batman make up and have an understanding for each other. Alfred gets a hold of Batman and tells him what happened. By the time they get there Casey is the only one left and he says Shredder left and took all the mutagen he had.
After they learn this Batman, Ralph, and Leonardo visit Gordon to talk and Penguin shows up as well. Penguin tells them that Shredder is working with Ra’s and they want to burn Gotham to to the ground and that he took over Arkham. Back at the bat cave Mikey and Donatello are looking after Casey because he got beat up pretty badly. Damian then pops up randomly and starts to fight them. Batman comes back just in time to stop Damian. Batman and Ralph come back because Leonardo starts to feel awful and this is because of the mutagen wearing off. Because of this Batman and Damian leave for Arkham without the turtles and Splinter.
When they get into Arkham they hear Penguin’s voice and they find out he double crossed them. When Penguin comes into the light we see that he looks like a real Penguin. Then we see that Shredder turned all the inmates into people who look like real animals. Batman and Damian start to fight all of them. Harley Quinn is a dog, Ivy is a bug plant monster, Freeze is a polar bear, and the Joker is a weird lizard snake.
Meanwhile, Casey makes another portal for the turtles and Splinter so they can go home. They don’t want to go back home because they want to help Batman. The turtles and Splinter show up at Arkham and start to fight all the inmates as well. The turtles came to the fight prepared. In the bat cave they found a really cool robotic bat suit. Batman uses it to fight Shredder. After the beat Shredder and the Foot Clan we see a portal form.
Casey comes through another portal and we see. . . April! When the turtles left the cave Casey went through the portal again to get help from April to make another one and they succeeded. The turtles and Splinter leave through the portal and thank Batman for everything.
