🟒 Non Spoiler Review 🟒

When I saw this was on HBO Max I freaked out! I LOVED this show when I was younger. Watching this on morning cartoons was life! This was honestly one of the best cartoons out there. The other one I ENJOYED was Jackie Chan Adventures.

Watching this show now I can truly appreciate how perfect it is. When I was young all cartoons were fun to watch. Especially a Batman show. But rewatching them I can see how wonderful this show was and it is sad to see that it only lasted three seasons. In this short time they were able to do awesome character development and they brought forward interesting villains. Every person is interesting, storylines were complex, and the action was fantastic. They really wrote this show for everyone. Kids can enjoy it, but adults can enjoy it as well. There is humor in it for everyone.

The animation is fantastic! Even watching it now it still holds up. Gotham is still eerie and exactly how I would picture Gotham to be. The colors and scenery were spot on. Terry’s Bat suit is honestly one of my favorite suits in the Batman franchise. I honestly have NOTHING but fantastic things to say about how this was animated. Everyone on this team were genius’s.

I Love everything about this show. The writing, actors, and animation. Batman Beyond to me was awesome because it was geared to the younger crowd. Instead of having adults be superhero’s, we had a Batman who was still in high school. So not only was he a hero, but he also had to deal with regular teenage drama. Since Terry is a teenager, this show can resonate with many people who are going through the same scenarios.

Bruce Wayne is super comedic in this show! It’s surprising I know, but his comedy is perfect. It is a total different side of Bruce than we are used to seeing. The way they wrote him is fantastic. He is an old guy, who cracks jokes, but who also plays a father figure to Terry.

The acting and music were also spot on. Everyone was a perfect casting. Even though it is just a voice over, you can hear that they all enjoyed what they were saying and truly believed in it. You could tell they all loved what they were doing. Also, no one’s voice felt out of place. Sometimes with voice overs they can. Kind of like on the movie Rio where Jessie Eisenberg voices Blue and the voice just does not match the character.

Honestly, there was nothing that I did not like about this show. I know I am probably biased because I grew up with this show, but still. IT WAS GREAT!

One Funny Thing

Gotham in this series is set in a futuristic world, but some stuff are not futuristic. There was a scene where they had floppy discs 🀣

This was such a BRILLIANT show. Everyone NEEDS to watch! They need remake Terry McGinnis and bring him to the silver screen or at least the screen in my living room.
