Life Day

I am all for this mini story! I LOVE, LOVE LOVE Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon. They are my two most favorite people! Not only is this story about my two favorite people, but it also has Wookie’s! Wookie’s are simply awesome!

This is by far my favorite mini story. The writing and artwork in this story are great as well. Michael Moreci really captures the spirit of Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan. Everything they did was totally in their true character. So I appreciated that Michael stayed true to their characters. Even though the artwork has a fun quality to it, it still has a realistic look to it. I truly feel they blended the two extremely well together.

The Hostage

I was not a fan of this mini story. There was nothing exciting about it. Nothing. This was disappointing because all of the stories have been entertaining up until now. With a story on Savage and Darth Maul you have certain expectations and none of those were met. I felt Shane McCarthy had no idea who these characters were. If Shane did, this would have been a very different story than the one we got.

Honestly the only thing I liked about this mini story was the drawings. The art. It was so realistic it was wonderful. Other than that, it was pretty boring and lackluster.

Life Day

Obi-Wan thinks Qui-Gon is taking him to on a training exercise, but in actuality they are on Kashyyyk celebrating Life Day with the Wookie’s. Qui tells Obi that Wookie’s lives are deeply rooted in harmony between families and between tribes as well as harmony with the world around them. Obi tells Qui that in a way Wookie’s are celebrating the Force.

Qui tells Obi that the Force is bigger than the both of them. The Force is bigger than life and death itself. He wants Obi to stand still and to feel the Force around him. Qui introduces Obi to a Wookie and Obi says. . . He says. . . “Hello there”. . . I laughed at this part. This is the one line people ALWAYS quote from Obi-Wan. Especially when they are imitating him. Every time I have seen James Arnold Taylor (who played Obi in Star Wars Clone Wars) this is the first line he says.

Brennonn, an old Wookie friend of Qui-Gon’s, tells Qui that a Wookie has gone missing. Qui then tells Obi that this is weird because no Wookie would ever be away from their family on such a special day. At this point Obi and Qui feel a disturbance in the Force. They are then attacked by Trandoshans! Trandoshans are hunting Wookie’s because they know this is when they are at their most vulnerable.

The Trandoshans were able to capture Qui-Gon and a few Wookie’s. Obi-Wan is still on Kashyyyk and him and Brennonn are going to have to team up to save everyone.

The Hostage

We are on the planet Bahlah and we are at the stronghold of the Morubas crime family.

Jjan’s place is getting attacked by Savage (Savage is Darth Maul’s brother), but he is not worried because he has Darth Maul captured. So Jjan feels nothing bad will happen to his people because he has Maul.

Maul is able to break out of his chains and attack the people surrounding him with his light saber. Maul tells Jjan that he is going to rule over his stronghold because he needs soldiers to help him take over Mandalore.
