“Space Jam” Movie Review

In a desperate attempt to win a basketball match and earn their freedom, the Looney Tunes seek the aid of retired basketball champion, Michael Jordan.

Since the new Space Jam movie came out it just made me want to watch the original. After watching it, I was reminded of what a solid movie Space Jam is. I love Michael Jordan and Looney Tunes and mushing them together was a brilliant idea! I will be honest though; I do think my love for this movie is because it gives me such a nostalgic feeling.

This was honestly such a clever idea for a movie. What is crazy is that it all started from a commercial MJ did with Bugs Bunny. I am so happy that Michael Jordan said yes to doing this movie. If this movie never got made I would feel a small void in my life. Working on a movie like this can be difficult because you are acting to pretend people since all the characters are animated. Michael Jordan does such an amazing job that you can’t tell he was acting all by himself. 

Space Jam is everything I wanted and more. It is exactly what you would expect it to be. It is fun, has humor, and it is entertaining. This is honestly a film the whole family will enjoy. It is beyond perfect for kids, but there is just enough so adults (who grew up and did not grow up with Looney Tunes) will like it too.

The jokes in this movie still make me laugh. There is a scene where there is an amusement park and there is a ride called Moron Mountain. That part makes me chuckle because it is a little jab at Disney. There is also another scene where Daffy Duck sees there is a hockey team the Mighty Ducks and he says, “What kind of Mickey Mouse organization would name their team the Ducks?”
