First off. When you go see this movie DO NOT get the extra large soda. There is so much that goes on. Honestly if you blink you will for sure miss something.
Even though this is technically a Doctor Strange sequel, it DID NOT feel like a sequel. It is more of a sequel to “WandaVision” than anything else. Yes still watch “Spider-Man: No Way Home” to see where the movies are going, but this movie did lean more towards an extension of “WandaVision”.
With that said, BEFORE you watch this movie you NEED to watch “WandaVision”, “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, and “What If…?”.
This movie was a bit messy I will admit. It was very much all over the place and very fast paced and we are left with many unanswered questions. We are actually still left in the dark about what happened at the end of the first Dr. Strange movie. After this movie that question pile has for sure gotten bigger. Even though this is a sequel we still do not know who Dr. Strange really is. He is one of the Avengers that we do not know much about. Yeah we know that he was a cocky and arrogant Dr., but that is about it. In his first movie we did see him grow, but not that much because he in every other movie he has been in he still has that attitude. Which is a little sad because I would hope for a bit more character growth.
Even though it was messy, it is still an enjoyable movie to watch. On your first go just sit back and relax. Don’t think too heavy about what you are seeing. Just enjoy what is happening. THEN on your second time is when you can start to pay more close attention to everything that is happening. I almost feel that the messiness of this movie was done on purpose. It is called Multiverse of Madness and man oh man did it lead up to its name.
Unfortunately since Strange was all over the place we were introduced to a brand new character and they were not given a spotlight at all. Well at least that’s how I felt. I don’t mind keeping us in the dark a little bit, but give us a little more explanation to this person. I want more because I know this is someone we will be seeing again. They were given a sad backstory, but since we did not get the time of day to connect with the new character I could not feel all the way bad for them.
I will be honest. After I watched this movie I realized that Marvel is starting to lean a little more towards the people who truly know the comics inside and out. So I do feel they are going to alienate people with this and people are going to come out confused. Don’t get me wrong. I do not know the ins and outs of EVERY character. But I guess that is ok because the comic lovers will know EXACTLY what is happening and those who do not know can just go Google it.
What really surprised me with Strange is how freaking creepy it was. Like oh my gosh! I got total Walking Dead vibes and horror film vibes. Horror esk film for sure! It was quite shocking to see. It very much had “The Boys” or “Invincible” feel to it. DON’T get me wrong. Obviously this movie is not THAT extreme, but man they show you a lot without showing you. Every killing scene we saw I was just like 😲😲😲 When I say killing I really do mean killing. Brutal killings.
I will say though. . . Wanda is freaking LEGIT! I cannot wait to see more of her character because she is going down a certain path and I am ALL IN on that. Wanda is exactly where we left her after “WandaVision”. She has grown much more powerful and much more badass. She is not taking crap from anyone anymore and all she wants is to be happy and get back what was taken from her.
The music did throw me off from time to time. Normally I do not pay attention to music. No disrespect to music! That does come out the wrong way. I love all the Marvel music and music in movies in general. This was the first movie where the music truly jumped out at me. And I am not sure if this was a good thing. I don’t think it was truly a good thing because it would take me out of the movie itself.
Overall, I am happy with how this movie turned out even though it was A LITTLE anticlimactic for me. This was totally not a Dr. Strange sequel either. I feel this was more about Wanda. With the new world building that they are doing is what is redeeming this movie for me. I CANNOT wait to see where this new phase leads us.
🔴 Mid Credit Scene Explained 🔴
Oh. My. Gosh.
I am SO happy to see Charlize Theron in the MCU! She is TOTALLY BADASS!
Ok. So Charlize is playing a woman named Clea. Clea is actually a love interest of Strange. In the comics they are actually married. When we see her open a portal that portal should look familiar to you if you remember the first Dr. Strange movie. She opens up a portal to the dark dimension. The dark dimension is where Strange defeated Dormammu. Clea, in the comics is the ruler of the dark dimension and Dormammu’s niece.
I do think that these incursions are going to start happening everywhere because Sylvie killed the time keeper at the end of “Loki”. If you remember once she did that the timelines started to get all out of whack and timelines started to go on top of each other.

Guys. . . Guys. I nearly jumped out of my chair when we saw Charles Xavier. When they played the original X-Men music I got super excited. I loved that each character of the illuminati got their own music, but my favorite moment was seeing Patrick Stewart come back. It made me realize how much I missed him.
I do love that we saw Captain Carter and Mr. Fantastic. Even though I had a feeling we would see them and people were speculating about, I did not care. I just love that they actually put them in the film even though it was all short lived. Sad times.
Mount Wundagore! In case you do not know, this place is important because this is the birth place of Wanda and Pietro birthplace in the comics.
One thing that I don’t like is that America could not control her powers. It is so hard for me to believe that not once did she sit down and think to herself that she should try to control her powers. To me that really did annoy me. America had MANY years to learn about her powers.
Music scene was totally weird to me. It truly threw me off and took me out of the movie. I am still unsure if we needed that. Was it entertaining? OF COURSE! I do not think I have ever seen something like this in a movie. It was super. . . strange. . . to watch 🤭 But it did give me a laugh.
I LOVED seeing evil Wanda. She was such a BEAST! I loved all the creepiness vibes that were given to her. The grossness of her looking like the grudge when coming out of the reflection was SICK! When she was limping and running with blood all over her! NICE! Every single scene with Wanda was the best. I loved every moment of crazy Wanda. At the end I do feel awful for Wanda because she really did lose everything and no one is there trying to help her. Which is truly the saddest thing.
That scream Strange does at the very end was super intense. Then when his third eye popped up was gross to see 😅 But as for many people know, Strange does use the Eye of Agamotto a lot in the comics and helps him in the pursuit of knowledge. I think since Strange has used the Darkhold’s magic that Agamotto and Strange have now become one. So Strange will now learn a lot more since he is now aware of what dark magic can do.
After reading your post I can’t wait to see the movie.
